Bartholomew crowned Porsche Visit Cayman Island Challenge GB Vice Champion
After missing out on any points at the previous round at Thruxton due to a heavy crash Jack Bartholomew was crowned Porsche Visit Cayman Islands Sprint Challenge GB Vice Champion at Donington Park on Sunday.
With his first time back in the car after being hospitalised in the Thruxton crash Bartholomew missed out on pole position by just 0.082 to his team mate. Race one on Sunday saw heavy rain falling and as the lights went out Bartholomew got a fantastic start taking the lead into turn Redgate but his team mate drew alongside at Craner Curves edging Bartholomew back to second. As they arrived at Mcleans, Bartholomew aquaplaned off on to the gravel dropping back to P10. A spirited fight back in the heavy rain saw Bartholomew climb back to P5 at the flag giving him enough points to be crowned Vice Champion.
Starting from P5 for race two with conditions now dry Bartholomew made another great start and was immediately up to P3 and on lap 2 Bartholomew made his move at the Melbourne Hairpin to take second, a position he held until the flag.
Jack Bartholomew
“I’m really happy to have secured second in the Championship but also a little disappointed that we didn’t score points at Thruxton because of the accident which all but put an end to my championship challenge.
Overall, it’s been a good season with 3 wins, 3 pole positions and 8 podiums.
A big thank you to the team for giving me a great car all year and of course my partners Yesss Electrical for the support this year”.
Jack will be back on Duty for Lamborghini in Misano, Italy at the end of October where he will be giving VIP’s hot laps at the Lamborghini Super Trofeo World Final.
