More Points for De La Torre at Road America

Arriving fresh from a two day test the previous week at Road America Elias was confident of another solid points finish this weekend, unfortunately a red flag during qualifying destroyed his hopes of a strong grid position for the race and had to settle for P17 (P16 in class).

As the green flag waved for the start Elias was nudged back one position until Lap 2 when the red flag was shown as the track was blocked by two damaged cars. Unusually the clock kept running during the stoppage and when the race resumed there was just 4 minutes left on the clock. Elias pushed hard passing three cars by the flag crossing the line in P15 (P14 in class).

Starting from P16 for race two on Saturday Elias jumped up to P14 by the end of lap one until a full course yellow was shown neutralising the race, after two laps the race went green until another full course yellow was required just one lap later. At the restart Elias attempted to make a pass but was edged onto the grass at the entry of Canada Corner sending him wide and dropping back to P16. Undeterred he set about regaining his lost positions and by the flag he had passed three cars to cross the line in P13.

The next round of the Porsche Carrera Cup North America will be at Indianapolis on September 16 & 17
