Top 6 for De La Torre at Indianapolis

Elias De La Torre IV achieved a top 6 finish in race 2 at Indianapolis over the weekend in the Porsche Carrera Cup North America Championship.

Qualifying in P10 for race 1 Elias got a good start but was hit going into turn 1 dropping him a position, towards the end of the lap as he was overtaking another car into turn 12 he was hit again and launched into the air with the impact damaging his steering and dropping him to P25. The race was now damage limitation for the #4 JDX Porsche and over the next 27 laps Elias carved through the field to take an impressive P11 in class and P12 overall at the flag.

Starting again from P10 for Race 2 Elias was determined to rectify the disappointment of race 1 and as the green flag waved he made an electrifying start and passed several cars into turn 1 & 2 putting him into P6, as the race went on Elias managed to gap the cars behind him but in an unusual uneventful race the leading 6 cars remained static for the entire race with Elias taking P6 at the flag.The next round of the Porsche Carrera Cup North America Championship will be at Road Atlanta on October 9-12.
